Our hickory shafted hammers are supplied heat blackened to seal the grain then lightly oiled for instant blister free use.
These are our student grade hammers and are made slightly softer on the face than our pro forging hammers. This protects your anvil from damage if there are any miss-hits when you are learning-it’s easier to polish your hammer once in a while than it is to repair the edges of your anvil!
