Forged from Carbon Steel

Your tongs are forged in Norfolk by Master Blacksmiths from carbon steel (no twists or welds). These tongs are forged on Lancelot a 1952 Massey power hammer and Sir Kay, a Hattersley and Davidson spring hammer.

All our standard and lightweight tongs are made with flexible, non parallel meeting round reins. This is very important as professional blacksmiths, it avoids the user nipping the palm of their hands in the reins and makes them comfortable to hold ,as well as dispersing the shock waves. Also the tongs can be easily stored on a rack without the reins sticking out and allow the use of a chain link to be placed on the end of the reins for a permanent grip when in use.
